How do I play?
The dog has buried bones all over the yard. Clear every tile that doesn't hide a bone — dig one
up and the dog catches you. Numbers on a dug tile tell you how many bones are hiding in the
eight tiles around it.
Why doesn't the tile do anything when I tap it?
Tapping a covered tile only selects it, and it gets a glowing outline so you can double-check
before committing. Tap the same tile a second time to actually act on it.
What are the three buttons under the board?
They set what your next tap does, and only one is active at a time. The
shovel digs a tile up. The flag marks a tile you're sure hides
a bone. The ? marks one you're unsure about — that's just a note to yourself,
and the tile can still be dug normally afterwards.
What are the difficulty levels?
Beginner is a 9×9 yard with 10 bones, Normal is 12×12 with 20 bones, and Expert is
16×16 with 40 bones.
How do I win?
Reveal every tile that has no bone under it. Any bones still buried are flagged for you
automatically.
Where do I find the rules and my stats?
The three buttons at the top right of the home screen are, in order, How to Play,
your Stats — games played, wins, win percentage, and best time for each
difficulty — and Settings.
How do I remove ads?
Open Settings from the home screen and choose Remove ads.
It's a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and it removes the banner and full-screen ads
permanently.
I bought Remove ads but the ads are back.
This normally happens after reinstalling or switching to a new device. Open
Settings and tap Restore purchases, making sure you're signed
in with the same Apple Account or Google account you originally purchased with. The purchase is
tied to that account, so restoring under a different one won't find it.
Settings says "Store unavailable".
The app couldn't reach the App Store or Play Store. Check your internet connection and that
you're signed in to the store, then reopen the game.
I was charged but nothing unlocked.
Try Restore purchases first. If that doesn't work, email us with the date of
purchase and we'll help sort it out. Refunds are handled by Apple and Google rather than by
us — for the App Store use reportaproblem.apple.com,
and for Google Play use your Play Store order history.
An ad won't load, or the screen is blank where the ad should be.
Ads need a working internet connection, and they occasionally fail to fill. The game stays
fully playable either way.
My stats disappeared.
Stats and settings are stored only on your device, so deleting the app clears them. They aren't
backed up to us or synced between devices.
There's no sound.
Check that your device isn't muted or in silent mode, and that Music & sound
is switched on in the game's own Settings screen.
The game is in the wrong language.
Paws Off! follows your device language where it can. To override it, open Settings
and choose Language, then pick one from the list or return to
System default.
